The last thing you want to worry about while on vacation or a business
trip is the welfare of your pet. Family owned and operated (our home is 100
feet from the kennel), we welcome your pet as one of our family. We
give nightly bed checks to make sure that all are snug in their beds and are
not up to mischief. We have even been known during a thunderstorm to dash out
in our night attire to soothe a worried guest.
We board most of God's creatures including dogs, cats, pigs, rabbits, hamsters,
birds, and ferrets. For the unusual pet we
will provide space; however, due to some pets size and needs you may
be asked to bring your own cage and food, but of course we will provide
the TLC.
We have several types of accommodations for pets:
Dogs
Dogs can choose from Indoor/outdoor heated and air conditioned runs or
outdoor runs that are cooled by overhead misters and have a dog
house. Each reservation is discussed with the owner as to their
preferences. We have various sizes of runs to accommodate the
tiniest toy group up to large breeds. We also have runs that can fit
the family that has more than one pet, and do give discounts for pets that
are boarded together.
Cats
Cats can choose from Indoor 4 1/2 X 6 runs that are heated and
air-conditioned or our 4x4 outdoor runs. Each cat has a view from their
area. All outdoor runs have a house in them and indoor runs have a condo or
a house.
We allow our guests to bring items from home that will make
their stay with us as much like home as possible -- items such as food,
toys, treats, beds, a favorite something that has the owner's scent on it
or even a picture of you! We do ask that you leave feed and water bowls
at home.
We recommend that you make reservations as early as possible
to ensure your pet's accommodations. Holidays and summer vacation
are especially busy. At the major holiday periods we do require
advance deposits to secure your reservation.
We feed either a chicken and rice or a lamb and rice kibble to your dog.
We will ask how much your pet eats at home and their schedule. We have
been accused of putting weight on some pets while they stay
with us. For the picky eater we have various canned foods that we
tempt them with or of course our "famous chicken" is always in
the freezer to ensure that your pet eats. For cats we keep dry food
down during the entire stay and have various flavors for our feline
guests. We wouldn't want our feline friends feelings to get hurt
so we keep chicken as well as shrimp in the freezer for them. Any special
diet can be given -- just let us know how we can help.
Check in and check
out are available anytime Monday - Saturday. Check outs before
3 PM will not incur a charge for that day. Check out times do
not apply to pets being groomed Monday - Friday. If someone other
than you will be picking up your pet, please leave us permission to
release your pet to another party. Please note we also offer Sunday
evening hours for your convenience to pick up your pet.
For pets that have
special needs we will administer medication or shots for a small fee. You
will need to mark clearly the dosage and times that it is given. We
will need to get a little information as to your pet's health history.
In the unlikely event your pet becomes ill while with us, we reserve the
right to seek veterinary care for which you, the owner, will be fully
responsible. We make an effort to contact your vet that has the records,
but will obtain emergency care for your family member with our own vet if
necessary. All pets are required to be current on their immunizations and
written proof or a call from the veterinarian to give us the dates last
given. Bordatella is required for dogs and it is recommended that it be
given at least 10 days prior to your dog's stay, in order to provide
maximum protection. This vaccine is a live virus, it may produce a
mild case of the virus in some dogs.
We offer each pet a courtesy
playtime or cuddle time each day. If you feel that your pet would
enjoy additional pampering we can tailor a schedule that will fit your
pet's needs. This time can be a nature walk, cuddle time, or playing ball
or better yet playing in one of our compounds dreaming about getting
close enough for a grab at some peacock tail feathers.
